About
Hello, I'm Jesse Kulp. I'm a designer on Apple's Human Interface team, thinking about what comes next. Before that, I was the founding designer on Google AI Studio and helped build an eval platform for ML researchers at Google. Also an early designer for Amazon's shopping and family experience.
Outside of work, I'm building with agents — exploring how they can extend our knowledge graph so we spend less time managing information and more time doing creative work.

Writing
I write at Substack about the design of AI-native systems.
- Taste Was Never the Thing. On emotional connection as the irreducible human moat.
- The Delegation Stage. A thesis on the three eras of UI: point-and-click, tap-and-scroll, and what comes next.
- The Proxy Problem. On AI labs as extra-state actors in geopolitical power struggles.
- Human in the Loop. On how oversight becomes performative at scale.
P
Projects
- HAI Harness. A prototype for working with agents — Slack meets Figma. Built at a Cursor and a16z hackathon.
- Laguna Seca. A design-to-code demo built with Claude. Live at laguna-seca.app.

Speaking
I occasionally speak at UC Berkeley and other places.
